Rani Mukerji is a popular Indian film actress. She performs in Hindi films. She was born on 21st March 1978 in a Bengali family. Her father ‘Ram Mukherjee’ is a director and co-founder of ‘Filmalaya Studio’. Her mother ‘Krishna’ was also a famous playback singer. Her brother ‘Raja Mukherjee’ is a producer and director. Her affectionate aunt, ‘Debashree Roy’ is also a ‘National Award’ appealing actress.

Rani Mukerji studied at ‘Maneckji Cooper High School’ in Juhu, Mumbai and graduated from ‘Mithibai College’ of Mumbai. She prepared her performing entrance with ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’ in 1997, and consequently had her first, and still largest business success with director ‘Karan Johar's romantic film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ in 1998. 

Which won her a Filmfare Award for the Best Supporting Actress? For the first time in her father’s Bengali film ‘Biyer Phool’ in 1992, Rani prepared her performing entrance five years afterward as the central character of ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat’ in 1997. 

Rani flavored success with the film ‘Ghulam’ in 1998, opposite ‘Aamir Khan’. Her film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, opposite ‘Shahrukh Khan’ and ‘Kajol’was a business success film.
